The Programme’s beneficiaries are all those people who benefit from the improved performance of the plantation forestry value chain. The Programme is specifically designed to support the livelihoods of tree-growing farmer households in selected districts in Iringa, Njombe and Ruvuma regions as well as SMEs acros the forest value chain.
Tree-planting beneficiaries will be organised into Tree Growers’ Associations (TGAs) in which a communal and participatory approach is applied, especially to ensure that women farmers have access to membership. In addition, businesses within the value chain which are strengthened with Programme assistance will provide employment to people, whether on plantations or in micro-, small and medium-sized enterprises (micro- and SMEs). Special attention will be paid to providing vulnerable groups with job opportunities.
