PFP has prepared two reports on the assessment of seedling survival.
The first one, the compilation report (in English), summarises findings of the PFP woodlot quality and growth assessment conducted at the end of dry season 2016/17. The aim of the study was to visit and assess all woodlots established through the PFP Tree Grower Incentive Scheme (TGIS) in-kind support during the first two years of the programme. Additionally, woodlots from two PFP-supported outgrower support programmes (OSP) by two forestry companies (Kilombero Valley Teak Company and New Forests Company) were included. Stand density, survival rate of trees, height growth and observed level of weeding activities were recorded in the survey. Additionally, about half of the beneficiaries were interviewed for assessment of their socioeconomic status through Progress out of Poverty Index (PPI) score.
The second report (available in Swahili and English), is a detailed account of the data on village by village basis.
